Hi my name is Liam Kerrigan and I'm a freelance illustrator who graduated from Coventry University with a BA(hons) degree in illustration. My work is mostly done by hand as pencil illustrations, later coloured in through photoshop with some minor composition changes.
I've loved drawing my whole life as a way of expressing my ideas. I primarily focus on editorial illustration now because every article has a different idea behind it. So I always have a new idea to think of and a new image to create.
I prefer to make my illustrations detailed enough to reflect the complexity of the subject matter, whilst also trying to 'sell' the article. A very detailed image can take me up to five days at the most.
Outside of editorial I can do anything ranging from an ordinary portrait to a picture of a formula one car. I like the challenge of conveying different ideas through illustration so I will always be happy to try doing something new as I thrive on challenges. Also it's a nice thought to have an image I've created hanging on someones wall.
